figured it out. the tool that I forgot to link (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/83634?tab=description) does indeed work. but some of the parent bones don't actually affect what they say they do. so when I stretched out the arm from the shoulder by moving its position and roated the entire thing around a bone that doesn't actually exist in game, it looked like it wasn't working. |

could this be a problem with me using SE instead of LE? if so, how would I go about fixing it? Blender says the animations were exported successfully. I tried using this mod to convert it from LE to SE, but it ignored the file so I assume that means that either the conversion tool is wrong, or the animation is already SE usable.
