Ignore certain .gitignore files

In my home directory, i have a git repo that tracks my config files and i have "*" to ignore everything (plus unignoring certain files). This means rg doesnt look through any files.

I am aware that i can use rg -uuu to ignore gitignore files, but now this ignores all .gitignore files in sub directories, which makes this not a great solution.

Is there a way i can ignore my ~/.gitignore, or some other clever solution, thanks.

Maybe --no-ignore-parent. Otherwise, you can use .ignore/.rgignore to whitelist things.

.ignore is hard to work as i need to not ignore everything but anything specified in every .gitignore but one

--no-ignore-parent works great, thank you!
