Not sure if I missed something, but while skipping untracked dotfiles/dotdirs such as I of course do not want to opt out from skipping other dot folders like |

You can whitelist
/.githubviaecho '!/.github/ > .rgignorein your repository root.ripgrep itself does it:
ripgrep/.ignore
