Is there a way to ask a root password when running dnf_ui in user mode, or only during transactions?

Hello!

Thank you for trying out dnf_ui!

Currently the only way to do transactions (install/reinstall/uninstall) in dnf_ui is to run the entire app as root.

This is just a temporary solution in the early stages of development and this will be replaced by proper Polkit integration so that the application can be run as user and only prompt for root credentials during transactions.

Thanks for the reply.
As i found def_ui very practical and created an RPM for my Fedora system, but the Start menu launches dnf_ui as a user.

I'll launch it in console mode for now.

Yes this is the correct approach for early adopters of this app right now.

The application is currently in feature freeze and work is being done on Polkit integration and stabilization.

I just rebuilt my rpm with the latest git and install transactions
services in their own directories and polkit is working.

Oh, nice.

I was just about to update this issue with that news.
The UI have also been slightly updated to give it a more "Synaptic" feel.

Next milestones will be tooling improvements and RPM packaging.
