cursor should be at the start of left parens when doing parens wrapping

Notice how the cursor in vscode always places the cursor to the most right parens block even if I highlight from right to left(<-). By default regardless of which direction you highlight from, it should always put the cursor to the most left cause thats the common case since most likely you'd want to wrap an operation around

Hmm, interesting...! What exact steps are you performing to insert text after selection...? Are you selecting, then moving the cursor in some manner, then typing? (I assume you are moving before typing new text, as I would think otherwise you'd be replacing what's selected.)

For a bit of context, I should say that at the moment, Magic Racket is not (trying to) control or configure editing behaviour, so you're currently at the whims of VS Code's native behaviour plus any other editing extensions you may have.

Magic Racket does include the Racket "language configuration", which tells VS Code about e.g. meaningful brackets, which might then influence editing behaviours, but this extension is not configuring those behaviours directly at the moment.

In any case, I'm still curious about the precise steps you're performing, as that might affect the best solution.

Nope, I'm not moving the cursor after selection and pressing (. The cursor moves itself to the left automatically in racket compared to vscode
Here is the precise input if it helps:

1. I'm selecting with (* 2 4) by dragging the mouse
2. I press ( on my keyboard to wrap parens around the selection
3. The input cursor automagically(in racket only) moves to the left most parens wrapped block
   This is a better default for racket code cause you most likely want your cursor on the left anyways after you wrap parens around

Ah okay, thanks, I understand now. I happen to use a Vim-style editing extension, and that seems to override / conflict with these native VS Code bracket wrapping features. I had to disable that first, and then I was able to follow along with your steps.

I'll need to look around a bit to better understand what's possible in the space of VS Code settings and extensions to change this behaviour. If anyone else has experience with this, please feel free to comment. 😄

Actually, I noticed it seems to do this for every language. You'd think selecting from right to left(<---) would at least put the cursor on the most left side which is where the user last highlighted but it doesn't. I'll report this in vscode as well
