novideo_sRGB clamp is lost when Windows turns the display off due to display timeout #594

Description

@just-dot-ice

Hello, big fan of ColorControl

My issue is: novideo_sRGB loses the clamp whenever Windows turns the display off due to the configured display timeout. This occurs even when the computer is configured to never sleep. Manually running a ColorControl NVIDIA preset immediately restores the clamp.

Information below, thanks!

Environment

  • ColorControl 11.0.0
  • Windows 11
  • NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti
  • novideo_sRGB enabled

Description

When Windows turns the display off due to the configured display timeout, the novideo_sRGB clamp is lost when the display wakes.

This happens even though the computer itself is not configured to sleep.

Reproduction

  1. Enable novideo_sRGB in ColorControl.
  2. Set Windows "Turn off the display" to 1 minute.
  3. Set "Put the computer to sleep" to Never.
  4. Wait for the display to turn off.
  5. Move the mouse to wake the display.

Expected behavior

The novideo_sRGB clamp remains active.

Actual behavior

The clamp is lost after the display wakes.

Running the same NVIDIA preset in ColorControl immediately restores the clamp.

Additional information

  • Manually turning the monitor off and back on does not remove the clamp.
  • The issue only occurs when Windows powers the display off because of the display timeout.
  • The preset itself works correctly, since manually applying it immediately restores the clamp.

Is there a way for ColorControl to automatically reapply the NVIDIA preset when Windows wakes the display after a display timeout?
