Findings

The X/Twitter embed behavior comes from transformTwitterLinks in front_end/src/components/markdown_editor/embedded_twitter/helpers.ts:4-24 — it scans markdown for any twitter.com / x.com / vxtwitter.com status URL and appends a <div class="tweets-wrapper"> containing one <Tweet id="..." /> per unique tweet at the end of the markdown.

That transform only runs when withTwitterPreview is enabled (markdown_editor/helpers.ts:314). In the notebook view it was enabled at front_end/src/app/(main)/notebooks/components/notebook_editor/index.tsx:124.

Change

Removed the withTwitterPreview flag from the notebook editor's MarkdownEditor call. Plain X/Twitter links in notebook bodies now render as ordinary links instead of being collected into an embed block at the bottom.

• Comments still get the auto-preview (comment.tsx:981, comment_card.tsx:149) — unchanged.
• Tweets that authors deliberately insert via the editor's tweet block (<Tweet id="..." /> JSX) still render, since the tweetDescriptor JSX component is registered independently of this flag.

Not done / caveats

• Couldn't run the frontend dev server or visual smoke test in this environment — the change is mechanical (a flag flip), but a quick browser check on a notebook containing an X link would confirm the embed no longer appears at the bottom.
• No tests touched: the existing tests for processMarkdown cover both withTwitterPreview: true and false paths, so the helper's contract is unchanged.
