Android: Streaming menu cannot be opened and controller focus highlight sometimes covers the entire screen #703

Description

What happened?

Environment Platform: Android app
Controller: Razer Kishi V3
Controller mode tested: XInput mode
Input methods tested: Controller input and Android touch navigation Description

I am currently using the openNOW Android app with a Razer Kishi V3 controller connected. I also tested the controller in XInput mode, but the same issues still occur.

I have identified two separate problems.

1. The streaming menu cannot be opened

While a stream is running, pressing and holding the controller's Menu button does not open the streaming menu.

The same problem occurs when using touch input. Pressing the Android Back button or using the Back gesture does not display the menu that normally allows the user to check the remaining session time or end the streaming session.

Because of this, once the stream has started, there appears to be no way to access the streaming controls or exit the stream normally from within the app.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Connect a Razer Kishi V3 to an Android device.
2.Launch openNOW and start a streaming session.
  2. Press and hold the controller's Menu button.
  3. Alternatively, use the Android Back button or Back gesture.

Expected behavior

The streaming menu should appear, allowing the user to check information such as the remaining session time and end the streaming session.

Actual behavior

Nothing happens. The streaming menu does not appear when using either the controller's Menu button or the Android Back button or gesture.

2. The controller focus highlight sometimes covers the entire screen

When navigating the app menus with the controller, the white visual effect that indicates the currently selected menu item sometimes expands and covers the entire screen.

This issue appears to occur most often when starting a streaming session.

If the issue occurs before entering the game, it can sometimes be resolved by pressing the minimize button and then using the analog stick or D-pad to move the selection to another menu item.

However, once the game has already started, this workaround is no longer available because the streaming menu cannot be opened due to the first issue described above. In that case, the only solution is to completely stop the stream and start it again.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Connect a Razer Kishi V3 to an Android device.
  2. Navigate through openNOW using the controller.
  3. Start a streaming session.
  4. Observe the white focus or selection highlight.

Expected behavior

The white focus effect should only appear around the currently selected button or menu item.

Actual behavior

The white focus effect may expand across the entire display, making it difficult or impossible to see the stream properly.

Workarounds

If the issue occurs before entering the game, press the minimize button and use the analog stick or D-pad to move the selection to another menu item. If the issue occurs after entering the game, the stream must be completely stopped and restarted because the streaming menu cannot be accessed.

Please let me know if any logs, screen recordings, device information, or additional testing would be helpful.

Please note that I am not fluent in English, so I used ChatGPT to translate and organize this issue report. I apologize for any unclear or unnatural wording, and I appreciate your understanding.
