Welcome to Phoenix, the next generation operating system for ComputerCraft. Phoenix adds many advanced features to ComputerCraft, including preemptive multitasking, a UNIX-like environment, custom filesystems with support for permissions, a cleaner library API, and much more.

Phoenix requires about 800 kB of space for a basic installation. It is recommended to install it on a fresh computer, on an emulator such as CraftOS-PC, or after increasing the maximum computer storage space.

Phoenix does not support preemptive multitasking on LuaJIT platforms, including CraftOS-PC Accelerated, due to some limitations in LuaJIT. Make sure to disable preemptive multitasking after installing by adding "preemptive=false" to the boot arguments in /boot/config.lua.

The Phoenix operating system is currently ALPHA SOFTWARE. There will be a lot of bugs in the software, and many features are missing or incomplete. Please help fix these bugs by reporting them at https://github.com/Phoenix-ComputerCraft/issues.
