I'll probably do it, but I'll need some pointers on Wayland equivalences.

I'm encountering some issues like [main.c:1276] Missing ext-session-lock-v1, wlr-layer-shell and wlr-input-inhibitor on Plasma 6 under NixOS. I'll keep you informed

The script also uses x11grab to capture screen, so there'll also need to be an alternative implementation for that.

I missed pranklock since I swapped to Wayland some time ago and I've actually spent quite a bit of time exploring ways to add Wayland support to pranklock.

Unfortunately, keeping the same approach as pranklock and using drop-in replacement tools won't work due to Wayland's security design:

• First, on Wayland there is no way to listen to keyboard/mouse events outside an app's own window (so we can't just start swaylock and listen to events with another tool like we did with xinput)
• We also can't kill Wayland lock screens the way pranklock kills i3lock as the ext-session-lock-v1 protocol prevents this. If you kill the lock screen on compositors implementing this protocol (Sway, Hyprland, and wlroots based), the session stays locked with a black/blank screen, requiring to switch TTY to unlock session.

I finally found a hacky way to achieve the same result as pranklock (with a bit more work) by using hyprlock and hooking some function calls via LD_PRELOAD. hyprlock has a feature that allows hot-reloading the background via SIGUSR2, so no need to kill it.

For now it is just a crappy PoC but it works :)
