Application freezing, if left idle

I have noticed multiple times if I leave my Wii U idle while downloading and an error pops up without a controller connected it just freezes completely. Music is still playing, but I’m not able to control anything and I’m having to completely forcefully shut down and reboot my Wii U

It doesn’t matter what error it is. I got a host name, error, and it just froze.

So this happens only if no controller is connected? Is this recreateable by simply removing the gamepads battery, then pulling the network cable or does it need the IDLE part, too, so sit in this state for some time?

I use my steam deck as a game pad and since it’s a OLED, I would love for it to automatically shut off which is why it does that, but I got a error while on the controller disconnected screen, and as soon as I connect back, The “gamepad” the screen gets brighter like it connected. The app shows that it’s connected, but the controller message does not go away. not letting me Press any of the buttons and also it’s frozen in the background even though there’s a countdown to retry, I have to manually hit retry.

The only way I can solve this issue is by going closer to my Wi-Fi router which is kind of annoying.
