This repo hasn't seen updates in a while, but it looks like perhaps work has continued in this branch on this personal fork:
https://github.com/agl/mobile-document-request-api/tree/identityapi

If that's the most relevant version for WICG folks to look at, it would be helpful to merge that back here (where issues can be opened, etc.). Or if not, could we get an update on whether this is still under active development and WICG discussion?

This is still under active discussion. Some exchanges are ongoing regarding PR#5.
