Firefox: ublock adblocker installed, activated, but seemigly not active (on YT)

seems despite ublock being active, YT still shows both overlay ads and ad videos.... oddly on my manjaro laptop with FF 115 (non esr) and ublock, there are no ads shown... something must be different or not activated, maybe a setting or filterlist

I visited YouTube and right-click the site, the uBlock contextual menu entry is available and its UI is displayed. I can also block elements (see the last images).
