Random note: upstream gst-droid/droidmedia have gained support for the android 7 codecs (in WIP branch although still) making the gst-omx obsolete.. so once neon CI is back in order, I will try to make a new rootfs with gst-droid including WIP patch, and gst-omx removed. This will hopefuly fix the video playback issues you had I believe.
