Trying to set up this integration for the first time. Created an API key as instructed.

Filled in http://192.168.10.3 (also tried with trailing slash) and my API key. There are no spaces on either end in both fields. I unticked "Verify SSL certificate" since it's plain HTTP.

"Failed to connect to Unraid"

That's literally all it says. No log entry appears, even after multiple tried. This failure message comes up immediately after hitting submit, indicating it's not a timeout-like problem. And of course, the IP-address is definitely correct. I can ping it from the HA OS local console.

What does this message mean? What exactly didn't work? Where can I see details?? I want to know where exactly it thought it should connect to, and what was the exact and full response. This will help to debug it.

I'm having the same issue. First time set up, tried similar combinations to you. Still fails without any helpful hint as to why.

Finally got it to work, just trying over and over and over. Not changing anything. But now I get:

If you have a default Unraid installation, it has to be http://192.168.10.3:9000. The verify checkbox is irrelevant, because you use http and not https.

That seems like an extremely important detail (if true, haven't tried it yet) that maybe the integration should try by itself.

Don't make the user supply information that's already obvious or default.

Just now, I tried again and it magically worked. I did not put :9000 in the url, but I did use a trailing slash. So the entire URL looks like http://192.168.10.3/.

Naturally I had also tried http://192.168.10.3/graphql since the sandbox uses that as well.

To the maintainer - can you please, for the love of whoever is allmighty, provide details when an error occurs? Details I tell you! Details details details! When filing a bug report, you need details to work with. We cannot provide details if you're not exposing any. Does that make sense?

To this moment, I still have no way of knowing what was actually going on, and thus, no way of knowing why it works, and when it will randomly break again (because fluff knows it might).

I haven't had the chance to fully test, but this should be fixed in my PR #43. I setup URL normalization to assist with problems using ports, and https vs http, etc. I haven't personally hit the error, so can't verify if it spits out more of an actual message.

Tried setting this up today and getting the same error and can not connect the integration to my Unraid instance. Tried all the remediations in this thread and still can't get it to work. I have a fairly simple Unraid setup (albeit the web ui runs on port 180/1443 instead of default 80/443). I've tried the following:

I'm waiting on @chris-mc1 to merge my changes into his repo. If you'd like to temporarily get around this, you can use this guide I've created and my forked repo to overwrite the files. I've confirmed everything should function, and you simply need to enter just the IP and the port separately.

His code has issues with custom ports not working with the API calls. Thus returning errors.

edit 2: I should also add that you can very easily undo the overwrite if you want by just uninstalling the integration in hacs and reinstalling. It will delete the files and re-add the official files from Chris' official repo.

@ShunHax This worked, tysm for this temporary fix. I updated Unraid from 6.x to 7.2.x over the holiday specifically so that I could try the API version of this HA Unraid Integration!

I think I see that you also updated the API key template to include Docker containers. I specifically use this integration to stop/start a Docker container as part of an automation, so for anyone else doing the same, make sure that the Docker permission has "Read" and also "Update" in the API key setup if you wish to stop/start containers.

Excited for these changes to get merged into the main integration.

I have issues connecting as well.
I verified if HA can reach my unraid server (ping/nslookup).
Used the API template.

Since this is local i disabled ssl verify and used the http address, BUT i added the port number and that worked!

My unRAID runs on standard ports and will not connect using any of the above formats. Also tried connecting over tailscale IP/addresses and still no luck. Also tried enabling port 80, normally I have setup to forward to 443 and still nothing.
