Compatiblity issue - ImportError: cannot import name 'cc_delim_re' from 'django.utils.cache'

I cannot submit the isssue on Issues page of the repo, so write here.

Found the requirements on home page:

REST framework requires the following:

    Django (5.2, 6.0, 6.1)

Upgraded the Django to 6.1

$ pip list | grep -i django
Django                        6.1
djangorestframework           3.17.2

then there is an issue when running django test server

lib/python3.13/site-packages/rest_framework/views.py", line 10, in <module>
    from django.utils.cache import cc_delim_re, patch_vary_headers
ImportError: cannot import name 'cc_delim_re' from 'django.utils.cache'

I checked the code of django-rest-framework 3.17.2, and there is the import, but the code of Django 6.1 has no the corresponding name cc_delim_re. So this is the compatibility issue.

It feels like this PR was merged to main but not to stable/3.17.x, causing the isssue : #9978

Correct, the homepage and readme document the state of the main branch, which is the upcoming 3.18 #10015

the homepage and readme document should reflect the requirements of the latest release, or the users will be confused when some error happened
