Quite likely the item field on your operation isn't filled in. It is needed to declare that operation as a replenishment method for that item. See eg https://demo.frepple.com/data/input/operation/
The owner field on the resource is what you need.
Routing operations are what you need. |

Hello,
I am currently working on implementing a small production scenario in frePPLe, but I am facing a couple of issues and couldn’t find clear documentation about it.
I created a simple production flow:
-Added raw materials
-Created operations
-Linked them sequentially
-At the end of the operations I expect to get the finished product
However, the planning run doesn’t generate the expected finished product.
I’m not sure if I’m missing something in the configuration.
Questions:
-Is there a specific way to define the operation flow so that the final product is produced?
-Do we need to define a routing or operationplan differently in frePPLe for this to work?
In one of my operations, I linked 4 resources.
When I run the planning engine, frePPLe uses all 4 resources simultaneously.
However, my expectation is:
-The operation should require only one of those resources
-frePPLe should choose any available resource from the pool
So basically:
Operation
-> Resource A
-> Resource B
-> Resource C
-> Resource D
But only one resource should be used per operation execution, not all of them.
Questions:
-Is there a way to configure resources as alternative resources?
-What is the recommended modeling approach for this in frePPLe?
I also want to model something similar to an assembly line where:
-Multiple operations occur sequentially
-Different stations/resources are involved
-The product moves step-by-step through the line
Questions:
-Does frePPLe support assembly line style production modeling?
-If yes, what is the recommended structure (operations, routings, resources, etc.)?
Additional context
I went through the available documentation but couldn’t find clear guidance for these scenarios.
If someone could point me to the correct modeling approach or documentation, that would be very helpful.
Thank you!
