[macos tahoe, m4 macbbook air] configuration window doesnt respect colemak keyboard layout

any key prints the character it would corrospond to if the layout was qwerty, even though i use colemak, i have never seen this before in any other app, maybe the app is interfacing with the keyboard at too low of a level and bypassing the os's keyboard layout?

btw awesome app! i switched to this app and its otherwise working good so far! time will tell how reliable it is compared to the other options ive tried
