mstate for within state varying time dependent covariate (question)

mstate requires that the dataset be in long format i.e. one line for each transition for which a subject is at risk. But i have a time dependent covariate that changes within a state i.e. even before a transition occurs to next state. How can I use mstate in this scenario?

@MuhammadIKaleem thank you for reaching out - similar questions have been ask in the past, see e.g. my answer here. I will leave this issue open for now, as we might want to add a function that prepares the data such that this is possible.

Adding a note here that {INLAjoint} can also fit the kind of model I mentioned in the other issue (joint model with multi-state submodel and time-dependent endogenous covariate).
