I installed the software on 4 airports (3 regulars 1 extreme). But a big problem I encountered is the apple airport configuration tool on the Mac’s (Neo with 26.6.2 and newest air book with 26.6.2).
when installed the smb software the airport configuration tool looses connection to the airports. One laptop can connect the other ones don’t even see the airport. But 9/10 times it can connect with the airport by smb or through network (environment). And when it finds the airport and I change for I.e. the wireless network name, the apple airport configuration tool looses connection to the airport and I am not able anymore to connect to it with the apple tool, only by environment. But it made the change. It looks like a caching problem but not sure. Sometimes an old Mac witje the apple airport configuration tool came in hand to connect to the airport.
the other question is: am I able to install the smb software without using the airport configuration tool ? Or do I need it to set the role for the airport (extended network, new network, wireless name etc)?
