To add to this, maybe we could start a Git repo remastering old themes that don't work but are semi-ported? I think you're on to something with Redmond2k and Redmond97.
Mostly Off-Topic, but I didn't have a good place to post. Plus this issue can be closed.
Would you be interested in resurrecting a couple GTK2/GTK3 themes? They're pretty close to the Redmond2k style you have.
