In this isolation mode, Hyper-V spins up a new Utility Virtual Machine which is hyper-optimized to run containers and can spin up very fast (few ms to seconds). The customer container gets launched in this VM.

Since the application runs within the container, it has its own virtualized file system, registry, etc. same as any other container. Any modifications done in this container will not be reflected onto the guest VM or the host node. You can assign devices, map folders from host to the container, etc.

Any Windows applications should be supported, including desktop applications with a GUI.
