auto 400s- requested model is not supported, model not available for session #276799

Description

@kevin-m-kent

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No

  • VS Code Version:
  • OS Version:

There are two errors we see for users in auto mode that we should investigate and try to resolve. Each accounts for a significant % of turn failures each day:

Request Failed: 400 {"error":{"message":"The requested model is not supported.","code":"model_not_supported","param":"model","type":"invalid_request_error"}}

Request Failed: 400 {"error":{"message":"Requested model not available for session","code":""}}

The first - requested model is not supported - is the primary issue based on volume.
