Decide on whether to stay with mkdocs or use something else

mkdocs development has stalled. The original author has started mkdocs 2.0 which is incompatible with v1.
Others have forked and continue working on a v1 compatible version.

@besendorf If you're interested in something along the lines of MkDocs then perhaps Zensical? I'm more of a Sphinx person myself, but my guess is that, given your original choice of MkDocs, you would prefer to use something Markdown-based. One advantage of Sphinx is its stability (over many years).

I'm an MVT user, and someone interested in technical documentation BTW :)
