Possilibity for adding gap junction in a compartmental model

Dear all,
NEST currently supports gap junctions only for point neurons (e.g., hh_psc_alpha_gap). However, we are interested in building circuit simulations of multicompartment neurons that include electrical (gap-junction) synapses.

It would be great if gap junctions are supported in the compartmental model, so that networks of morphologically detailed neurons can be coupled electrically as well as chemically.

@Alvinwu-Sim I have created PRs to both NEST and NESTML with a Claude Opus 4.8-generated implementation of gap junction support. Note that I have not strongly validated the code, it is provided as a proof-of-concept only at the moment.
