Ran into this while test-driving self hosted Netbird installed via quickstart / getting-started.sh
- Install Netbird Android (fresh install)
- Change server to self-hosted instance
- tap Connect
- error "no peer auth" (same error also shown in the server logs)
At this stage, my phone wasn't able to connect to anything.anymore.
Workaound:
- Settings -> Network & Internet -> VPN
- change Netbird VPN settings:
- disable "Always-on VPN"
- disable "Block connections without VPN"
I probably could have just deleted the VPN 🤔
- -> network restored
- Open Netbird app again
- tap Connect
- SSO login properly triggers, peer connected
- Server:
- Management v0.73.2
- Dashboard v2.80.0
- Android app v0.5.0
- Android 17 / GrapheneOS 2026062300
- Debug bundle daeb3bceae561e02591738a68f6783b2da6b57227699e5a54187fc62da8d525d/29f98394-ec0e-4c3c-9c38-eb3a6393ffe1
