Are AI assisted contributions welcome?

Hi, I couldn't find an official AI policy for the project. I wonder if AI assisted PRs will be accepted.

I think every PR opened or issue reported by @nlohmann for the last two months has been through Claude Code. :)

Indeed - I am currently using Claude Code heavily to burn down the backlog.

For external submissions, I would like to see PRs that clearly document what they want to improve - and best targeting an existing issue. Furthermore, I expect authors to take part in review discussions and work toward a green CI.

That said - I don't mind AI, but I want a human to be able to talk to and who feels accountable.

Having said that, there have been several that were seemingly just AI-written and that were pure garbage, so they were closed. So I think that as long as it's just assisted, and that you ensure that they are quality PRs, then it should be fine.
