There is no configuration that will make alt text appear. Alt text needs to be added in the problems. If you are using problems from the OPL, there is work being done on adding alt text, but it generally comes down to someone adding the alt text to the problems they are using and then contributing that back to the OPL. So if the problems you are using don't have it, then you would need to add it. If you do create good alt text, then please contribute it. |

Hello Maximillian, I did respond to your forum post: https://forums.openwebwork.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=8786 This is not what we consider an issue with webwork2, so I will close this issue. But please continue the forum thread. Perhaps the wiki can be improved with a page all about what you are asking about. Or perhaps start an OPL issue about alt text. |

I'm working with our LMS administrators at our University to upgrade to a new Webwork server, but ran into an issue that we need to fix.
In the U.S. a new rule for Title II, ADA goes into effect April 2026. This ruling sets standards for digital web/mobile content, which we will need to meet. I was seeing some examples of alt-text for an image in the imported OPL, but I don't see that for many problems.
I'm hoping to find out if there's anything I need to set up with the config files for alt-text to work, or if it's missing what steps an instructor would need to take to add alt-text to an image.
Unfortunately the wiki hasn't given much information on this, and I haven't heard back on the forums, or seen a page that highlights this.
Any advice and information is welcome!
