How to create file like structure in anytype? #366
|
How can I set up a hierarchical, folder-like directory structure (similar to Notion or a traditional file system) inside Anytype? Should I use Collections, Sets, or nested page links, and what are the best practices to avoid breaking Anytype's native object-graph model? |

To create a file-like structure in Anytype—which natively uses a graph model instead of rigid folders—you can pin a master "Folder" page to your sidebar as a widget and set its view to Hierarchical Structure to enable an expandable tree of nested sub-pages, or use Collections to group related objects together. To solve the limitation of not being able to physically drag and drop pages into sub-folders within the default file tree, you simply use page links inside your parent pages to manually map out your desired directory path, or rely on Sets and Queries to automatically filter and organize your files by tags instead of burying them in deep folder layers. |
