Remapped Left CTRL to Right Alt failed

I remapped Left CTRL to the Right Alt and it does not seem to work. I use it to select objects in a game and assign to a number. Before my Left CTRL (only Ctrl key on laptop) would be used in conjunction with a number key to assign to a specific group of selected objects in a game. Since my Left CTRL has now failed, I wanted to use a different key

The RAlt key is a curious beast. Depending on system layout, it may result in not one but two key codes.

I'd suggest trying another key. How about CapsLock? Do be wary of moving modifiers though, as there may be technical issues with key autorepeat (as at least some modifier keys don't and shouldn't autorepeat).

And make sure you remapped the right way around. And don't remap yourself into a breaking corner, by removing a key that you need for normal system operation!
