Exam Instructions

Theory Exam

• Number of questions and score?
  The exam has 35 questions, three of which are double scored. Therefore, the exam has a maximum score of 38 points and is passed with a minimum of 33 points.

• Time to finish?
  45 minutes

• Can I review wrong questions?
  May be yes, not sure
  After you have finished your exam, the system will allocate a few minutes for you to see the questions you answered incorrectly. In this instance you will only be able to view the answer you selected and the correct answer.
  The answers cannot be modified, since the exam has already finished.

• Can I take the exam in English?
  In the municipality, at the time of having to take the Class B theoretical exam.

Practical Exams

• How is this test conducted?

• What are ther errors that are observed?
  Minor Errors:
  

1. Identify the mandatory documents for the transit of a vehicle
   
2. Do not adjust rear view mirrors and seat before starting the car.

23. Perform back maneuver where it is not allowed.
24. Using the clutch pedal when its use is not necessary.
25. Positioning yourself incorrectly on the road.
26. On a sloped road, do not park the vehicle with the front wheels turned towards the pavement or the road, depending on whether it is going downhill or uphill, respectively.

Serious Errors:

1. Merge into traffic, exit traffic, turn or change lanes, affecting other users who have priority, without creating an accident risk.
2. Not signaling when changing lanes or signaling incorrectly.
3. Exceed or overtake pedestrian crossings and unregulated crossings.
4. Overtaking, creating risk for vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
5. Entering an intersection without having enough space to clear the intersection.
6. Open the door and get out of the vehicle without looking.
7. Not respecting the priority sign 'Give Way'.
8. Not respecting prohibition, restriction and obligation signs.
9. Circulate without turning on corresponding lights when their use is mandatory or necessary. (need more context)
10. Confuse: clutch, brake, accelerator
11. Momentarily release both hands from the wheel or drive with one hand on the wheel, except when it is necessary to carry out some action proper to driving.
12. Drive the vehicle against the direction of traffic.
13. Driving without maintaining a reasonable and safe distance from other road users.
14. Not respecting the preferential right of way for pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles.
15. Stop or park the vehicle where it is not allowed.
16. Stopping the vehicle engine while driving due to misuse of the clutch, brake, accelerator, affecting the transit of other road users.
17. Overtaking in areas where this maneuver is not allowed.
18. Driving at a speed that interferes with the normal traffic of other vehicles.
19. Taking more than three minutes to execute the parking maneuver.
20. Wetting pedestrians or cyclists.
21. Make a turn from a runway where this movement is not allowed. (need more context)

Failing Errors:

1. Not wearing a seat belt (driver and passengers). Putting the vehicle in motion without all the occupants wearing the seat belt correctly.
2. Enter the traffic, exit the traffic, turn or change the lane, forcing users with priority to change their trajectory, generating the risk of an accident.
3. Failing to stop for a red light or 'Stop' priority sign.
4. Hit people, animals, vehicles or other elements with the vehicle.
5. Exceed the maximum speed allowed on the road.
6. Disobeying the signs or traffic orders of a member of the Carabineros.
7. Manipulating electronic elements such as cell phones, geolocation devices, radios, and other similar devices that distract the driver applicant during the exam.

• How to fail this exam?
  – Committing 1 failing error (in this case, the exam will be considered finished before the time and minimum length has expired.
  – Accumulating 2 serious errors or more.
  – Accumulating 5 minor errors and 1 serious or more.
  – Accumulating 10 minor errors or more.

• Can I reapply?
  There is a maximum period of 25 business days to repeat the theoretical and/or practical exam at no cost. If it is failed again, then the license is denied and can be applied for again after one month. After that you need to wait for 6 months.
