Contributing to SkyLines

Thanks for helping. Keep it lean and human-maintainable: smallest change that works, one concern per PR, clear names, obvious control flow.

Before you start

  1. Read the status / roadmap: skylines#2603
  2. Prefer fixing something on the current Platform / Hygiene / Product focus over large refactors
  3. Search existing issues and PRs first

Development

Main codebase: skylines-project/skylines

  • Local/dev Docker: see INSTALL.docker.md
  • Production-oriented Docker: see docs/DEPLOY.docker.md (when present on master)
  • Code bar for agents/editors: .cursor/rules/lean-maintainable.mdc

Pull requests

  • One purpose per PR
  • No drive-by refactors or unrelated dependency bumps
  • Describe why, link the issue
  • CI should be green

Issues

Use the existing labels. high-priority is reserved for the shortlist called out in #2603. Add needs-repro when behavior isn’t confirmed on current master.
