@anatoliy-t7 Thanks, and thanks for including the screenshot. It made the third point obvious immediately. Let me take them separately, because they land in very different places. The battery bar is fair criticism and I agree with it. Apple's reads as one solid object with an unambiguous fill level; mine reads as a thin strip that is easy to misjudge at a glance. That is the kind of thing I would rather fix in the existing bar than expose as a setting. The battery drop notification I want to understand better before building. A fixed "dropped 20%" alert fires constantly during ordinary heavy use and gets muted within a day. If what you actually want is "something has started draining the battery unusually fast for this machine", that is a more useful signal and a harder one to get right. If that is closer to your intent, say so and I will think about it that way instead. The internet speed test is a no. Mole is a maintenance tool for what is on the disk and in the system. A speed test pulls in measurement servers, methodology and its own accuracy arguments, and it would be a different product wearing this one's name. There are good dedicated tools for it. |

@anatoliy-t7 Answers for all three, since two of them are no. Battery drop notification. Not planned. macOS already warns on low battery, and an alert on a 20 to 30 percent drop would fire during ordinary use, on a laptop doing exactly what a laptop does. Mole does notify where the drop is attributable to something it started: a Keep Screen On session that is draining the battery now stops itself. Internet speed test. Not planned. The menu bar already shows live throughput, which is the part that belongs in a system monitor, and getting even that reading honest took several passes to stop tunnel interfaces inflating it. An on-demand speed test is a different product with its own accuracy problem, and the good ones already exist. Battery bar. Agreed, and it is the one I am keeping. Your screenshot made the point better than words: Apple's reads as one solid object with an unambiguous fill level, mine reads as a thin strip that is easy to misjudge at a glance. That is a fix to the existing bar, not a new setting, and it is on the Mac app's list. It has not been done yet, so I would rather say so than leave this open implying otherwise. Closing on that basis. |
