This is not an announcement or anything. The fact is, twitter/twemoji hasn’t been updated since 2023 and it is not advisable for production use. It lacks support for Unicode versions beyond v14. As of now, Unicode 17 is the latest public release, and it is fully supported by the active fork jdecked/twemoji. Besides that, it has been used as a tool to promote political narratives which is unprofessional and unacceptable in OSS community.
TL;DR: use jdecked/twemoji instead.
