What is the proper way to update mention view?

Hello,

How do I properly update the mention view in vanilla JavaScript after the editor is installed? I have a async await to fetch user details, so I want to update @handle to @Full name. Currently, I can not save my mention into square buckets with label, and I can only save into @handle.
