would be solving part of openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema#41 and would be used in iD presets when possible (in practice: probably as soon as released)
temaki has https://rapideditor.github.io/temaki/docs/#icon-temaki-swamp
currently https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mapbox/maki/refs/heads/main/icons/wetland.svg is used in iD presets for most of wetlands
using more dedicated icons was requested in openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema#41 but requires new icons to be added
adding even a single icon - if it would match symbology of existing ones would be already helpful, but maybe multiple can get support?
existing ones are already in Pinhead: https://pinhead.ink/#broadleaved_tree_in_water and https://pinhead.ink/#grass_in_water with their horizontal line indicating water/waterlogged/wetness - having more would be nice
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:wetland%3Dswamp
for iD it is lesser priority as https://rapideditor.github.io/temaki/docs/#icon-temaki-swamp is decent and currently used
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:wetland%3Dmangrove
https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema/blob/main/data/presets/natural/wetland/mangrove.json
ideally mangrove would user similar symbology to match temaki (symbology also makes sense and works well - but maybe something better can be invented)
maybe some

more and smaller plants?

multiple vertical plants?
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:wetland%3Dtidalflat
natural/wetland/tidalflat
not sure how to distinguish it from regular mud, it is a bare mud
maybe it should share icon with https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema/blob/37b11ac0864ed4a9a908adee03cbf504eb75facc/data/presets/natural/mud.json#L2 ?

natural/wetland/marsh
current icon ( https://icones.js.org/collection/maki?s=wetla&icon=maki:wetland ) shared with other wetlands actually works well here? Probably because it is most popular wetland type, at least in area where this icon was made.

natural/wetland/wet_meadow
like OSM Carto does, with small clump of grass?
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:wetland%3Dbog
natural/wetland/bog
some kind of moss icon? How do you make a moss icon?
natural/wetland/string_bog
like regular bog also add some kind of ridge?
do not attempt to differentiate between those?

I have no good ideas here
