the capture sheets' size was decided by everything except them: the pushed page's height, a fixed pixel ask that overflowed short screens, and the preview's natural size jumping on every source change. they ask for at most eight tenths of their window now and the preview requests nothing at all. two finds along the way: previews paint black until the camera's first frame, so they stay hidden until something draws; and captures went to tmpfs, so a recording streamed straight into RAM.
