👋 Hi, I’m @HeroBrine1st, a random-time enthusiast developer interested in privacy and beyond privacy through self-hosting and cybersecurity. I don't mind patching and building from source since I have my own CI doing that for me overnight.
I'm fully self-taught (no books, no courses, I recall no question-asking since I was afraid to ask for help) with a strong goal to actually solve problems: if there's no solution, I make it myself; if solution makes problems, I replace, isolate or fix it myself - most often it's the way it doesn't bother me anymore. Sometimes, this leads to contributions, if I see my changes are helpful to others. I go a long way to avoid "weird" problems some can't even perceive, which gives me unique skills and habits and, eventually, led me to cybersecurity - thank the one who started the whole "supply chain attack" thing.
Sometimes this is noted like I make my own weird problems and solve them, well, that's what I do. Some don't see any reason to degoogle; I hope you do even if you don't want to. But I went as far as to self-host everything I previously used Google for - that might actually sound weird to you and that's okay, just don't tell me I do everything wrong.
I'm not particularly interested in software development for the sake of it - I'd like to compose existing software. Still, I'm a polyglot, and my favourite language is Kotlin due to its great expressiveness combined with balanced enough ease of enforcing forward soundnessa, together with the best UI library I ever used - Compose UI.
