This is the personal configuration and setup script I usually use for my Debian-based home servers. It automates all the boring setup so I can spin up a fresh server and get straight to work.
To set everything up, just run this command on a fresh Debian instance:
curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ijon6k/dotfiles-debianserver/main/setup_debian.sh | bashRunning the script will automatically install and configure my usual environment:
- Core Services: Docker (rootless), Podman (with user socket), Tailscale, Cockpit (Port 9090), and Dokploy.
- CLI Tools: Antigravity CLI, uv, mise, nvm, and Lazydocker.
- My Shell: ZSH with Oh-My-Zsh, my custom aliases, and plugins (zsh-autosuggestions, fzf-tab, syntax-highlighting).
- Daily Utilities: fzf, micro, lf, zoxide, btop, nmap, glow, and fastfetch.
- Log out and log back in to apply the ZSH shell and Docker group permissions.
- Run
sudo tailscale upto connect the server to the Tailscale network.
