Error uploading files

When using EfsTools 0.14, I repeatedly get error code 306.
I'm running this in a Windows 10 vm with the Qualcomm drivers installed.
The phone is in serial mode and usb port mapped from the host to the vm.
The phone is a OnePlus 5T. I'm trying to flash an mbn to make it work with VoLTE, for which I followed the procedure described here.
efsInfo and writeFile worked, but uploadDirectory failed.
