About the Leaves logo - what Cobble shows, and asking whether you'd rather it didn't #883

Description

@minikumachan

Hello, and thank you for Leaves.

I maintain Cobble, a free, open-source Minecraft launcher and server manager.
When someone creates a server with it, they pick the server software from a list,
and each entry shows a small mark so it can be told apart at a glance.

I have read LICENCE-LOGO in LeavesMC/Website:

LeavesMC logos or images licensed with us are subject to the following license:
Copyright © 2024 LeavesMC. All rights reserved.

So assets/brand/leaves.svg is not bundled with Cobble, and will not be.

What Cobble does show beside the name "Leaves" is
leaf-fill.svg from Phosphor Icons,
which is MIT-licensed. I would rather be transparent about why I believe that
file, and not yours, is the one I am entitled to use: assets/brand/leaves.svg
appears to be that same Phosphor glyph re-exported — the same viewBox
(0 0 256 256), the same anchor points rounded to one decimal place
(223.45,40.07 → 224,39.5), the same stem cut-out, the same detached stalk.
If I have that wrong, please tell me and I will correct both the file and the
documentation.

Two things I would like to ask:

  1. Would you rather no leaf mark were shown against Leaves at all? If so I
will remove it in the next release — no discussion needed, no reason required.
  2. Or would you be willing to permit your own file to be used? Unmodified, at
its published size, purely to identify Leaves as the software a server runs on.
If yes, I would rather ship yours than a stand-in.

Either answer is fine. Thank you either way, and thank you for the work on Leaves.
