Doclify AI 📚🤖

🚀 Overview

Doclify AI is an AI-powered document intelligence system that allows users to chat with PDFs, PPTs, and documents using a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline.

Instead of manually searching through long documents, users can ask questions in natural language and get context-aware answers with source references.

💡 Problem It Solves

Reading and extracting information from large documents is:

⏳ Time-consuming 🔍 Difficult to search manually 📚 Inefficient for revision and analysis

Doclify AI solves this by turning static documents into interactive knowledge systems.

✨ Key Features 📄 Support for multiple file formats (PDF, PPT, DOCX) 💬 Chat-with-documents (ChatGPT-like interface) 🧠 RAG-based contextual question answering 🔍 Page-level source tracking for every answer 📝 One-click document summarization 📚 Multi-document querying support ⚡ Real-time streaming responses 🏗️ Architecture User Query ↓ Document Upload (PDF / PPT / DOC) ↓ Text Extraction (PDFPlumber) ↓ Chunking & Preprocessing ↓ Embedding Generation ↓ Vector Store Retrieval ↓ Relevant Context Selection ↓ LLM Response Generation ↓ Final Answer + Page Reference 🧰 Tech Stack Frontend: Streamlit Backend: Python RAG Framework: LangChain Document Parsing: PDFPlumber Embeddings: Vector Embedding Models LLM Integration: OpenAI / LLM APIs Architecture: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) 🚀 Deployment Deployed using Railway Streamlit web application ⚠️ Challenge Faced

While deploying, the app faced memory constraints when processing large PDFs and multiple embeddings simultaneously, causing performance issues and occasional crashes.

📈 What I Learned Real-world implementation of RAG pipelines How LLMs + retrieval systems work together Challenges of deploying AI applications Memory optimization in document-heavy workloads Difference between local vs production AI systems 🔮 Future Improvements 🔗 Integration with external vector databases (Pinecone / FAISS / Weaviate) ☁️ Scalable cloud deployment (AWS / GCP) ⚡ Optimized chunking and retrieval strategies 📦 Better memory handling for large documents 🧠 Improved multi-document reasoning 📌 Impact

Doclify AI demonstrates how unstructured documents can be transformed into:

Interactive Q&A systems Intelligent knowledge assistants Scalable AI retrieval pipelines 🔥 Status

🚧 Actively evolving from prototype → production-ready AI system

⭐ Key Takeaway

This project gave me hands-on experience in:

Building end-to-end AI systems Working with LLMs and embeddings Designing RAG-based architectures Handling real-world deployment challenges
