Gptk 4

[Arslannac]

Do you planning to update for gptk 4 ? On youtube they say gptk 4 is better performing than gptk 3.

Thanks for the nudge — yes, GPTK 4 support is planned for the near future.

Some context on how it fits: D4Mac doesn't bundle Apple's D3DMetal (Apple's license doesn't permit redistributing it) — you supply it from Apple's free Game Porting Toolkit download and D4Mac loads it. So supporting GPTK 4 mostly means validating and adapting that loading path for the new toolkit's D3DMetal 4 libraries.

One thing we need to verify first: GPTK 4 is Apple-Silicon-native and drops Intel support, while D4Mac currently runs an x86_64 Wine under Rosetta. If the new libraries ship without an x86_64 slice, we'll need to adapt our Wine side before D3DMetal 4 can load (we already have native arm64 wineserver work in the tree, so there's a path). GPTK 4 is also still in beta, so the plan is: evaluate against the beta now, ship support once it's actually stable with Diablo IV.

Leaving this issue open to track it.
