/ about

I'm Naijei Jiang, a CS student at Cornell. I like figuring out how systems fit together—from distributing file chunks across peers to connecting computer vision with hardware.

  • 🛠️ Previously @ GEICO — Kafka schema infrastructure with Terraform and AI agent workflows for claims operations.
  • ⚡ Tech lead @ Cornell Data Science — peer-to-peer file distribution and compute infrastructure for ML.
  • 🎓 CS 2110 TA — teaching Java, data structures, and software design.
  • 🌱 Learning now — Rust and distributed systems.

/ selected work

🌐 Distributed Downloader

Peer discovery. Parallel transfers.

Tech lead for a peer-to-peer file downloader. A tracker coordinates live peers while clients stream chunks from multiple machines in parallel over gRPC.

Java Spring Boot gRPC Protobuf

⚡ CDS Compute Cluster

Six nodes. Shared compute for AI.

Configured scheduling and shared storage for a six-node cluster supporting AI workloads. Built a health dashboard to monitor CPU/GPU usage and node status.

Linux Slurm NFS Docker

📍 Gnarly

Scan it. Connect it. Walk it.

An indoor navigation ecosystem with an iPhone LiDAR mapper, a web editor to connect zones across rooms and floors, and live AR guidance. Scanning and navigation run on the phone, with Firebase map sharing and no hardcoded routes.

🥁 GroovyAR

🏆 1st Place Overall · Cornell Makeathon 2026

An AR drum trainer with camera-based drumstick tracking and real-time visual cues. Connects mobile controls, a Flask backend, and an OpenCV runtime through WebSockets.

👁️ Seeround

🏆 Best Hardware Hack · Cornell Makeathon 2025

A wearable assistive-device prototype combining computer vision, distance sensing, and spatial audio to help visually impaired users navigate indoor spaces.

Python OpenCV Raspberry Pi

🥽 VR Bioprinting

Learning through interaction.

Led development of an interactive VR bioprinting simulator for education research with RIT. Built virtual interactions and 3D assets to help users explore bioprinting concepts.
