French sounds for the pack peasant_fr are not matching the description #577
Hello,
The issue is that the actual sounds (the voice lines on the files themselves) are not matching the description in the file openpeon.json (which is used to configure the settings for the agents).
For PeasantYes:
Forgive the lack of accents on the letters, i assume the comparison is enough.
I don't have the game unfortunatly, @thomasKn , did somebody overwrite your files or was this there from the beginning?
Pretty sure the peasantPissed lines are from the movie "Un diner de cons" which makes it hilarious with the peasant voice.
Thanks for this, and no apology needed for the report. It was precise enough that I could check every line.
Every claim reproduces. I transcribed all 20 wavs in the pack, and 19 labels were wrong, not just the ones you listed. PeasantYesAttack3 and PeasantPissed5 were off too.
The cause is that the labels were written by translating the English peasant lines rather than by listening to the French audio. That happens to work for the straightforward ones and falls apart completely on PeasantPissed, because the French localization replaced the Monty Python jokes with its own material rather than translating them. So the pack advertised "On a trouvé une sorcière ! On peut la brûler ?" while playing "Il est beau. C'est un champion du monde."
To be clear about what changed: the audio is correct and I have not touched it. Only the labels moved, and they are now transcribed from the clips themselves.
Your report also turned up a second bug. task.complete referenced sounds/JobDone.wav, which does not exist. The file is sounds/PeasantJobDone.wav, so that slot has been silently dead. I audited all 54 packs in og-packs and peasant_fr was the only one with a broken file reference.
One thing I would value your eye on, as someone who knows the French version: the labels now say exactly what I hear, but I am going by transcription, not by the game. If any of them are off, or if the punctuation reads wrong to a native speaker, say so and I will fix it.
There is no maximum number of sounds per category. The manifest lists the sounds eligible for each action, and PeonPing chooses among that list when the event fires. You can add more clips to a custom pack or put a clip in several categories; an unlisted file is not selected automatically.
The French labels and the missing completion-file reference are fixed in og-packs v1.5.0, and the registry now points to that release. peon packs update peasant_fr installs it. Closing the label report as resolved.

v1.5.0, and the registry entry is repointed in PeonPing/registry#350. Once that lands, peon packs update peasant_frwill pull it down. One thing I would value your eye on, as someone who knows the French version: the labels now say exactly what I hear, but I am going by transcription, not by the game. Seems okay to me.
Question, if i read correctly we are limited in our choices of sound per sounds set for said action in the json yes?
Why?
