Chat2 Plugin
The Chat2 plugin serves as a vital communication bridge between content creators and viewers, offering a real-time space for interaction during live streams, video playback, and more. Additionally, it allows users to chat with each other, enhancing community engagement on your platform.
- 📺 Multi-Location Display: Embed the chat on Channels, LiveStreams, the Main Video Player page, and Embedded Videos.
- ⚙️ Customizable Placement: Choose where the chat is displayed by enabling/disabling it per your platform's needs.
- 📱 Mobile App Support: We are working on bringing full Chat2 functionality to the mobile app (in development).
You can allow users to send donations directly through the chat interface.
To enable this:
- Activate the donation feature via the CustomizeUser Plugin.
- Ensure the user wallet is funded and the donation button will appear alongside their chat messages.
⚡ The Sockets Plugin: Required for Performance
The Sockets plugin is essential for enabling and optimizing real-time features such as:
- Chat message delivery
- Live status updates
- Real-time interactions
Without it, the chat may not function or may perform poorly. Installation and proper configuration are highly recommended.
The Chat2 plugin allows users to ignore specific users in the chat interface. This feature is useful to mute unwanted messages without affecting the experience of others.
- Each chat message includes an "Ignore".
- When clicked, the sender’s messages are visually muted: the text is hidden and the message appears with a faded or gray style, indicating it's from an ignored user.
- A tooltip or placeholder such as "Message from ignored user" is shown instead of the original content.
- This behavior is local to the user — it doesn’t affect what other users see.
- To reverse the action, click the "Unignore" on any muted message.
- The previously hidden messages will be restored instantly in the chat.
In the animation below, you can see:
- Normal chat messages being rendered.
- A user being ignored, causing their messages to fade and show a placeholder.
- The same user being unignored, restoring their full message text.

Admins can create polls and display them in the chat to gather viewer opinions.
- Click the Actions menu (⋮) at the top-right corner of the chat.
- Select Poll Opinions.
- You will see a form like this:

- Poll Question: Type your question.
- Poll Options: Add at least two answer options.
- Use drag-and-drop to reorder options if needed.
- Click + Add Option to insert more choices.
- Navigate to the My Polls tab.
- Click the green Add to Chat Room button next to the poll.
The poll will appear immediately in the current chat and users will be able to vote in real time.

The Chat2 plugin allows users to share images in chat conversations. Users can upload JPG, JPEG, GIF, and PNG files to enhance their communication.
To configure attachments for your site:
- Go to Admin Menu → Plugins → Chat2
- Configure these settings:
- Disable Attachments Globally: Turn this ON to completely disable file sharing across all chats
- Maximum Upload File Size: Set the maximum file size users can upload (in MB)
- No Attachment Permission Message: Customize the message shown to users who don't have permission to attach files in chat.

To control who can attach files:
- Go to Admin Menu → User Groups
- Create or edit a user group (e.g., "Premium Users")
- Go to Admin Menu → Permissions → User Groups Permissions
- Select your user group
- Find Chat2 in the list
- Enable "Can Attach Files" permission

Permission levels:
- Admins: Always can attach files
- Users with permission: Can attach files in rooms that allow it
- Chat owners: Can enable/disable attachments in their own chat rooms
- Regular users: Can only attach files if they have permission AND the room allows it
To enable/disable attachments in your chat room:
- Open your chat room
- Click the actions menu (⋮) at the top
- Look for "Attachment Settings"
- Toggle attachments on/off for your room

For chat room owners:
- Find a message from the user in your chat
- Use the moderation options on their message
- Select "Delete attachments in this room"
- Confirm to remove all their attachments from your chat room

For administrators:
- Go to Admin Menu → Chat2 → Attachment Management
- Search for and select the user
- Click "Delete ALL Attachments"
- Confirm the action

Allowed file types:
- JPG, JPEG images
- GIF images (including animated)
- PNG images
File size: Limited by your admin's settings
"You don't have permission to attach files" → Contact your admin to add you to a user group with attachment permissions
"Attachments disabled for this chat room" → Contact the chat room owner to enable attachments
"File size too large" → Resize your image or contact admin about the file size limit
"Attachments disabled globally" → The site admin has disabled all file attachments
