macOS dotfiles, managed with chezmoi.

Install

1. Install Homebrew
2. Install chezmoi and apply:

   brew install chezmoi
   chezmoi init addisonlynch/dotfiles
   chezmoi apply

3. Install brew packages: brew bundle
4. Install third-party Claude skills (see dot_claude/README.md)

Updating

Dotfile changes are managed through the /dotfiles Claude Code skill, which wraps chezmoi with per-file diffs and confirmation prompts.

/dotfiles              # show drift between disk and repo
/dotfiles sync         # commit disk changes to the repo (per-file approval)
/dotfiles apply        # apply repo to disk (shows diff first)
/dotfiles add <path>   # start tracking a new file
/dotfiles claude       # sync ~/.claude config specifically

Raw chezmoi if needed:

chezmoi diff              # what apply would write to disk
chezmoi diff --reverse    # what re-add would write to repo
chezmoi re-add ~/.zshrc   # pull disk state into repo
chezmoi apply             # apply all to disk
