What is it?

  • Bugfix (user facing)
  • Feature (user facing)
  • Codebase improvement (dev facing)
  • Meta improvement to the project (dev facing)

Description of the changes in your PR

  • Overrode onResume() in FeedFragment.kt to restore the groupName subtitle when returning to the feed tab.
  • Updated onStop() to safely clear the action bar subtitle if it matches groupName, preventing it from leaking into subsequent views when navigating away.
  • Fixes the subtitle leak into other fragments (e.g., channel pages) while ensuring the group name remains visible on its own feed tab without regression.

Testing/QA

Devices
  • tested on physical Android device and emulator (both Android 15 API 35) by navigating between feed groups and other app fragments.
Steps for testing
  1. Create channel group with name
  2. Add the tab showing the group on main page
  3. Select the tab
  4. Go to search
  5. Open any channel/playlist
APK for testing

The APK can be found by going to the "Checks" tab below the title. On the left pane, click on "CI", scroll down to "artifacts" and click "app" to download the zip file which contains the debug APK of this PR. You can find more info and a video demonstration on this wiki page.

This fixes the leak onto channel page, but the group name now goes missing from the group’s own feed. Probably because this clears the subtitle every time any feed goes out of frame.

Maybe add a conditional clear (only if the subtitle belongs to this feed) and also restore the name in onResume()

Thanks for catching that. I've updated FeedFragment.kt to restore the subtitle in onResume() so it stays on the group's feed, while still clearing it in onStop() to prevent leaking.

Tested in on my device and it works as expected now. Could you take another quick look?
