I read that you don't want to implement HVAC mode management because you consider it a non-essential feature and that it would make your addon incompatible with backwards. I disagree with your assessment for these reasons:
- HVAC mode management is a fundamental feature because without it, I can't control a heat pump unless I use a script (which completely defeats the purpose of your addon, which is precisely that of not having to deal with automations and scripts).
- There are many ways to implement HVAC mode management while maintaining backwards compatibility with older schedulers, such as an option that enables this feature for those who want it.
- I'm sure that most Simple Scheduler users will appreciate this option.
- Unfortunately, those who want to manage a heat pump and don't want to deal with extra scripts must turn to other schedulers, while yours, which is the best in many respects, could do so with a small functional addition (as it is in light managment, where 4 extra features can be choosed).
I sincerely hope that you will reconsider the idea of implementing this feature because there would be nothing lost in simplicity, in fact there would only be something to gain from this.
