Installing 2.0.x on macOS

Hi, I've read in your RADME that macos support is currently in the making and that you need testers for that. I am happy to test but I don't know to install this app.

Well, the core functionality is very much a work in progress. You can follow the build instructions in the readme (ignoring kmod/v4l2loopback/linux-headers because those don't exist on macOS); should build and launch fine. Major issue I'm working on is that there's no way to pipe the video directly into a macOS native camera, at least until I have some time to build the camera extension. In order to actually use it as a webcam, you need to run:

$ webcamize -x -f -lDEBUG | ffplay -probesize 32 -sync ext -fflags nobuffer -

And then capture that window with OBS; should be able to see it as a webcam if you use their virtual camera feature. I'm not going to be able to give a whole lot more support on this as it is definitely a work in progress, but if you're able to get it working be sure to let me know.

Hi, i'm also tesing on macos, it seems working except i cannot see the ffmpeg window, see image.

@davdenic first, make sure your ffmpeg is up to date, 8.x should be available in Homebrew. No idea what the problem could be, maybe run ffplay with -loglevel debug
